Deploying Cloudmersive Storage Protection On-Premises with a Load Balancer
11/1/2023 - Cloudmersive Support

When deploying Cloudmersive Storage Protection on-premises with a load balancer, an additional step is required to introduce an Infrastructure Group.

An infrastructure group assigns each Private Cloud Node into a group. The Cloud Storage Connection is then connected to the group instead of an individual node. This will enable you to only need a single Cloud Connection per group of nodes, rather than one per node. Follow these steps to provision your Cloud Connection:

  1. Work with your account team to provision your Storage Protection servers into an Infrastructure Group any time they will work together behind a load balancer. So for example, if you have Node 1 and Node 2, with a load balancer in front, you would want to create one Infrastructure Group that contains both Node 1 and Node 2.

  2. When you create your Cloud Connection, instead of selecting an individual Node, you should select the Infrastructure Group created in step 1. This way the same Cloud Connection can be used by all members of the group.

  3. When you create your webhook, you will only need to create one. You will want to point your webhook to your load balancer endpoint, e.g. https://myloadbalancer.mydomain.com/...
